Accession records, 1906-1943.

Correspondence and other supporting documentation pertaining to the donation and purchase of specimens acquired by the department as well as other specimens offered for sale but refused. Also included is documentation regarding the transfer of specimens to other Museum departments. Types of specimens encompass geological material such as rocks, minerals and meteorites, and invertebrate fossils. Geological specimens are now housed in the Dept. of Mineral Sciences. An accession index and rock catalog accompany the collection.
